Buying the Perfect Dress Shoes

Proper dress shoes should be a part of every man's wardrobe, more specifically, a black pair of men's dress shoes. A good pair of black shoes can go with pretty much everything: full suit, slacks and a dress shirt, jeans and a dress shirt, the list goes on. Another great thing about black shoes is that they can go well with almost any color; this can't be said for brown, oxblood, or any other color.

When looking for a good men's shoe, keep in mind hat simplicity is the key. Do not go for a flashy overboard half sneaker type shoe. Stick to something simple, a lot of men's dress shoes have extra stitching for esthetics. This is usually a line at the front of the shoe, or something small. Remember, when it comes to a dress shoe less is more.

Quality comes first, you can cheap out on a pair of athletic shoes, but do not buy a cheap pair of dress shoes. Let me clear that up, if you find a great shoe for a low price then by all means buy it, but don't purposely scout a mall for a no-name dress shoe just to save money. Dress shoes are an investment that can increase a man's image substantially.

What about brand names?

You may be familiar with brand names such as: Prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana etc. There are some great brand names that you may not be familiar with, brands such as Bruno Magli. It's kind of like with watches, everyone has heard of Rolex, and it's seen as the greatest watchmaker in most peoples eyes. When you mention the name Patek Phillippe, most people will have never heard of it, when in fact it is one of the best watchmakers in the world, if not the best. Just like the Swiss are for watches, the Italians are for shoes (and clothing in general). You may find a brand that you are unfamiliar with, but if it has the Made in Italy stamp on it chances are it's a solid shoe, if it has the Hand Made in Italy stamp on it, even better. This will significantly lower the chances of someone having the same pair of shoes as you at a wedding, party, or any other get-together.

The price range of dress shoes varies. You can find a pair of shoes for $100 or you can find a pair for $600 or anywhere over $1000. You can get a pair of $100 shoes that may very well get destroyed within a year, or you can get a pair of $500 shoes that will last 10 years. You will save money in the long run. The difference between a $100 shoe and a $500 shoe is not just in durability, but also in comfort. Cheaper shoes will ache your feet, and give them blisters. The stitching on the outside can also scrape the foot; the back of the shoe can rip your socks causing additional pain on your Achilles' tendon. The whole thing is a hassle. A $500 pair of Italian shoes will feel phenomenal; they will usually have an extra layer of leather inside the shoe. This is so all of the fancy stitching on the outside doesn't scrape your foot due to the extra layer of leather in the shoe.

Here is some good news: you can find a $500, $600, or even an $800 shoe for a fraction of the price. You may be able to find it for $160-200! This could be a pair of shoes that the majority is unfamiliar with. They may be avoided by the public because they are seen as a no-name brand. So the stores and websites will lower the price significantly until the shoes get sold. So while everyone is grabbing the Prada, and Gucci, you can find yourself a fantastic pair of hand made Italian Bruno Magli shoes for a fraction of the price.

Do some additional research online so you can get a good idea of what to look for in a high quality shoe. Once you are comfortable and can identify a solid pair, then you can look for deals, sales and coupons on sites such as http://www.guccidea.com/men-gucci-shoes.html Then it's only a matter of time before you find your fantastic pair.
